Resolution 2026-02 passed by the Eastland City Commission on January 20, 2026, correctly stated that an election is to be held on May 2, 2026 to elect two (2) City Commissioners.  However, the order and notice of election, which were sent to the Eastland County Joint Elections Administrator were incorrect.  They both stated the purpose of the election was to elect three (3) City Commissioners.  Therefore, the ballots were printed and programmed incorrectly.  Before the beginning of early voting, this error was corrected by the Joint Elections Administrator on all voting machines, and the machines have been retested for accuracy.  The error has also been corrected on the vote by mail ballots, and they have been sent to the voters.

Elections:
The Board of Commissioners are elected for two year terms. All positions are At-Large, meaning they are elected on a city wide basis.  City elections take place on the first Saturday of May each year, with Commissioners for Places 1-3 elected on Odd years, while commissioners for Places 4-5 on even years.   There are no term limits for City Commissioners.
